Yesterday I wrote about Los Angeles probably being the most strange place in the USA. Not long after I wrote about this, I took my daily photo walk and lived it once again. I was going to try a little something different so I figured I’d do a short VLOG. It would be my veryContinue reading “Crazy Day”

Leica Lenses
They really are that good. Before I knew how to post process, I thought Leica lenses were more about ergonomics and size. But I’ve recently discovered how vivid photos can be with a bit of tweaking in post. I’ve been using the tiny 28mm Elmarit-M and the micro contrast and color is pretty phenomenal.
Los Angeles is Odd
I’m fairly certain LA is the strangest place in the US, maybe on Earth. I’ve been to pretty much every major city in the US, so I’m comfortable saying this. The massive discrepancy between the rich and poor and then you have everyone else somewhere in the middle fighting for relevancy. Every culture with it’sContinue reading “Los Angeles is Odd”
Photo Update
I’ve been taking a lot of photos lately and am happy with my dive into color. I’ve finally figured out post processing color and getting the most out of my gear. I’m still trying to figure out a faster workflow but it’s not too time consuming. I’ll be updating this site regularly with my mostContinue reading “Photo Update”
It’s lame to…
post your photos on social media. But what’s the alternative, to never share anything? Seeking validation from strangers is how we roll in society today.

You’re not complete until…
you are wearing a Leica around your neck dressed in full Lululemon. The Gucci of Santa Monica. You can easily store extra batteries and film in your zippered pockets. No more need for skinny skins, fake vintage concert tees from Urban Outfitters, trendy hats and old patina leather bags you found at your favorite vintageContinue reading “You’re not complete until…”
You know what’s better…
than taking a good (whatever that is) street photo? Putting your feet in the sand and knocking out 100 pull ups. Street photography is like going on a hike to Mars. You’ll never get there. You’ll never get good at it, therefore never feel accomplished. It’s kind of the appeal. But you’ll always feel accomplishedContinue reading “You know what’s better…”
Technically Bad
This photo is out of focus and shot on my Ricoh GRDIV which uses an iPhone sized sensor. But who cares, I think it looks great. The colors and scene are nice and dare I say look FILMIC.
Two Color Photos
99% of the time, my photos look better in black and white. Not sure why. I don’t know if it’s my approach or lack of skill in processing color photos. Probably a little of both. But I found two photos I like in color. They were both shot in pretty good light which seems toContinue reading “Two Color Photos”
