Ricoh GR Batteries

Buying authentic Ricoh batteries fixed all my issues with the GR. No more lens getting stuck or camera freezing. Took me a while to figure out as I bought a used authentic battery and I was still having problems. I examined it and found a tiny dent in the battery. Since I’ve bought two moreContinue reading “Ricoh GR Batteries”

JPEGs Are Better

Love hate with them but I think it comes out net positive. No more fiddling in post with lens corrections and processing. Shoot it and your done. Much more relaxed workflow. I’m not a pro, who cares if I blunder it.

Ricoh GRIII Crop Modes

Been experimenting with the 35 and 50mm crop modes. I think it’s fun and useful. The files are still large enough for basically any use. Maybe today I’ll do 50mm crop for the diversity.

Shooting JPEGs

Becomes a lot easier when you’re okay with failure. Shooting a lot helps too. If the exposure is off on some photos, I know I’ll just keep shooting until I get it right.

JPEGS On The Ricoh GRIII

Tricky to expose properly. A lot of my photos come out underexposed but the JPEGs have some flexibility to them.

Ricoh GRIII Still Freezing

Wish this thing would stop locking up on me. Been happening a lot lately. Only have 6k shutter clicks on it. Guess I’ll use it until it dies. My precious little flower.

Ricoh GRiii Revived

GRs are known for their fragility. Specifically the lens mechanism. It will freeze and the only way to fix it is to remove the battery. I’ve returned three brand new GRs that did this shortly after purchase. Recently I noticed this only happening with my current GR when using third party batteries. Now I onlyContinue reading “Ricoh GRiii Revived”

Getting Close

An emotional drain with bigger cameras. Too easy with the GR.

Conundrum

I always think the Ricoh is good enough, but then I shoot the Leica. Been using a 50 year old 35mm Summicron on it and it’s fantastic.
