On Sunday, me and my better half rode our bikes on the closed down Melrose Ave. If you don’t know what Melrose Ave is, it’s basically a long strip of designer and boutique clothing stores. Everything from Gucci to local brands. Here are a few of my favorites, mostly taken while riding my bike. OvercastContinue reading “Strike Photography At CicLAvia On Melrose Ave”

My Favorite Street Photography Cameras Are All Unique
All stand out for various reasons in an ocean of cameras.
My Camera Gear
I’ve finally rid myself of all the unnecessary camera gear I’ve accumulated over the last four years. This morning I mailed the rest of the gear to MPB in exchange for a lens. I now own only two camera bodies and one lens (with one on the way from MPB). My gear is now soContinue reading “My Camera Gear”
Road To 1,000 Sepia Keepers
I’m not sure if it’s useful or not to constantly think about the future but it is what it is. I’m thinking that after I get 1k keepers in high contrast black and white with sepia tone photos I’ll move on to another style. Sepia tone is the first of five color tone options onContinue reading “Road To 1,000 Sepia Keepers”
Sepia Tone Street Photography
I’m not sure how much I like it. But going to continue shooting with the filter. At least until I have 500 keepers. After that, maybe try with another color filter.
Why I’m Selling My GRiiix Urban Edition
Yesterday I did some major spring cleaning. I went through my closet and bagged up about 30 pounds of clothing and hauled it to the donation box. Afterwards I went for my daily photo walk with my GRiii and was thinking about the GRiiix which I love. After my closet clean, I was thinking aboutContinue reading “Why I’m Selling My GRiiix Urban Edition”
My GRIV Wishlist
60 megapixel sensor so I can have 75 and 90mm crop modes. More durable. Weather sealing. A monochrome version. That’s it, I don’t care about anything else. The top two would be a big improvement. Second pair would be nice but no big deal if it didn’t happen.
Leica Q3 Versus GRIII Comparison
Quick comparison and further evidence that the GR is the best. Size/Weight: GR by a mile IQ/Sensor: Q3 but negligibly better. I prefer smaller sensors for street photography as I prefer shooting with a large depth of field. Lens: Q3 by a mile. The lux is marvelous but also much bigger than the GR. Ergonomics:Continue reading “Leica Q3 Versus GRIII Comparison”
Small JPEGs and Crop Modes
If you can wrap your head around using the small JPEG size on your GR, you’ll use crop modes more. Your photos will all have the same amount of pixels. 7.5MP or 3360 × 2240 pixels. It’s a liberating approach once you’ve accepted shooting in a smaller size. Now you can freely shoot in cropContinue reading “Small JPEGs and Crop Modes”
Using Crop Mode On GRs
I find the crop modes very useful. I use it anytime I shoot. I have an effective range from 28mm to 71mm in two tiny cameras.
