I don’t think so. Especially so for black and white street photography where a little grit is welcomed. I found the highest ISO photo in my Lightroom library. This photo was taken at 25,600 ISO with my Nikon Zf. I used the Denoise feature at 50 to smooth it out a bit. I think itContinue reading “Does High ISO Matter Anymore?”

Processing to the Extreme
Make it your own reality.
RAW or JPEG?
Which one do you prefer? I found this old dirty car. I wanted to bring out the dirt and grime on this thing. I processed one photo in Silver Efex Pro and the other using the in camera processing on the Ricoh GR. Boosted everything to the max using the High Contrast Film Effect. Ricoh GRiii Street Photography Settings
I’ve been experimenting with GRs for three years now. This is the easiest setup for shooting on the street you’ll find. These are the basics. The most important settings are using Snap focus and Snap Distance Priority. This way you control your distance using the front scroll wheel. I will adjust the distance accordingly. ISO 3200 For Street Photography
I’m sold on this for shooting street. This allows me to keep a high shutter speed and depth of field in basically any situation. I’ve been keeping it in snap mode at 1m and it’s too easy. Not sure how it happened but we all had it and I didn’t feel right for months. The weather here has been cold and gloomy by our standards. SoContinue reading “My Best Black and White Photos – 2023”
My Workflow
I wish I could speed this up a bit. This is how it goes. Now that’s a workflow. It’s a lot of steps. It’s doesn’t take as long as it seems though. But I could cut down on time a bit if I could figure out how to bypass Color Efex Pro. But the twoContinue reading “My Workflow”
Leica Lenses
They really are that good. Before I knew how to post process, I thought Leica lenses were more about ergonomics and size. But I’ve recently discovered how vivid photos can be with a bit of tweaking in post. I’ve been using the tiny 28mm Elmarit-M and the micro contrast and color is pretty phenomenal.
