Looks pretty cool if the scene is right and you can silhouette your subject. Wish I could’ve gotten the middle kids face profile in the sand. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.

Ricoh GR High Contrast JPEGs
It’s pretty easy to make interesting photos. Use highlight weighted metering and look for high contrast scenes. Shoot with the light.
Shooting Black and White
It’s good no matter the time of day. I do a lot of shooting in bad light so for me, it’s preferential. I think if I did the majority of shooting in golden light, I’d probably do a lot more color.
New Street Photo Kit
Leica M7, 50mm with orange filter and HP5 around my neck. A Ricoh GRiii shooting high contrast jpegs in my pocket. I only use the M7 if I feel something and use the GR for experimentation. No expectations for the GR photos, slightly higher expectations for the film photos. Liking the setup so far.
Hey Dante, Keep It Up
If you’re reading this Mr. Sisofo, keep it going man. With a world of well manicured content, loving your candid takes. Wish more people were doing things like you in the photo world. Always entertaining to watch.
Battle of the GRs
I’ve had a lot of GRs. Mainly because they are fragile and I return them if they show any lag with the lens motor. I was playing around earlier with my Ricoh GRIII and the GRDIV. The GRIII has a crop sensor with a 2.8 max aperture, the GRDIV has an iPhone sized 4×3 sensorContinue reading “Battle of the GRs”

Sea Lions Last Breath
My goal is to feel something. I ran across this sea lion the other day. All along the California coast, Sea Lions have been poisoned by domoic acid in the water. I watched this animal struggle for a few minutes and then I was on my way. By the time I got to the pier,Continue reading “Sea Lions Last Breath”
Diving Into Film Again
Developed my first roll in a few years. Ilford HP5+ pushed to 800 using Ilfotec HC. Ended up with five keepers. Messed up the emulsion on about half the roll. Not sure what I did. Hopefully I’ll do better in the future but I’m not mad about it. Five keepers is good enough for me.Continue reading “Diving Into Film Again”
The Ghost Of Venice
I met a nice and interesting person today. Named the “Ghost of Venice.” From Georgia born in 1945 but living in Venice for the last 40 years. He was walking down the beach towards the Santa Monica Pier in a Speedo carrying some tote bags. He had a very long white beard. I knew instantlyContinue reading “The Ghost Of Venice”
