It’s hard to take much advice from people who have led cushy lives. The real person in you is displayed through hardship and experience. Is your advice given through a relatable lens or your utopian vision?
Struggles Are A Net Positive
I used to be addicted to drugs. I was a complete loser in my earlier days. I’m lucky I managed to escape prison. The only reason I avoided this was I somehow got the idea in my head that the military was good for me. And it worked. I can never be too upset about my current struggles because I remind myself how bad it was in my past.
Better To Be Relaxed And Complacent Or Hyper Aware?
Which society is right for you? Do you want an easy going environment where life’s struggles are rarely displayed or where the struggles are publicized to the point where you can’t trust anyone around you.
Own Up
It’s almost always your fault. I could’ve avoided being spat on but my guard was momentarily down. It’s my fault for allowing it to happen and for letting it affect me the way it did. Next time I’ll be better prepared. Life requires contacts practice, same as your art or hobby.
Amor Fati. Embrace and accept the negatives in life and use them as jet fuel to become a better version.
All Talk No Action
Whining about lack of improvement in your art while not obsessively indulged in it. No self blame, only common scapegoats to deflect where the trouble lies.
