We aren’t playing Call of Duty.
Pure White
Like the evil photo villain out to underexpose my photos.
Something From Nothing
That’s what high contrast black and white photos allows me to do.
Understanding Light
I think it’s what makes high contrast black and white photography addicting. Constantly learning how light shapes our environment and how to emphasis the scene using it.
Most Overrated Street Photography Notion?
Shooting for the character. Once I got past this hurdle, my photography leapfrogged.
I Want A DC Media Pass
All with the elite snapping away. Why not.
I Miss The Seasons
Never thought I’d be this guy but here I am missing fall, spring and winter. Never think you have it all figured out. If you do, you haven’t lived long enough.
I’m Craving An Urban Environment
I moved to Santa Monica at the perfect time, during Covid. Here we could still exist like humans outside. I spent all of Covid biking, hanging out on the sand and doing calisthenics at Muscle Beach. I was very fortunate. Now that Covid is long gone, the beach life has lost its lure. I’m craving a more dense urban city with good public transportation, nice parks and access to other cities. I need parks for time to unwind with my better half and an urban environment for my street photography.
So far Washington DC is where I’ve landed. Amazing parks and museums, transportation and easy access to other cities. Plus close to a lot of nature. I have family there as well which is a big plus. And bonus, not a lot of street photographers there so maybe I can make some unique work.
Time will tell.
