I Love Biking
Biking is probably my favorite activity besides street photography. When I’m on the bike, I feel free. I can go so many places and much faster than most people. I can go faster than some people driving. It’s the best way to explore Santa Monica. But LA is really missing out by not investing more in its bike infrastructure. 12 months of perfect weather is the perfect excuse to build an extensive bike network. San Diego is even worse. They don’t even have bike shares there. It’s really odd to me that the two cities with the best weather are so mediocre for biking. Santa Monica has a great network and has spent a lot of money in the last five years to protect bikers. I hope LA joins the conversation.
We Drive Here In America
I love taking the train in the city or Amtrak for a longer trip. It’s cheap and a great way to travel. But the US is grand and beautiful. It’s a mistake not to explore as much as possible. Only so much can be explored by foot, bike or public transportation. The best answer is to add good public transport to our existing network.
Who Is Dogmatic Here?
Is it me or you? It’s much easier to refrain from dogmatism when you’ve already experienced the alternative.
Road Tripping The West
Road tripping throughout the Western USA is one of the most fulfilling things you’ll ever do.
Bragging About Post Processing
“I spent two hours editing that photo” seems like a massive waste of time to me. A properly exposed photo should only take a few minutes to post process. Propaganda by editing software tells us we need more useless software.
Only Nerds Zoom In 100%
Seriously. Go to a gallery and observe how people look at art on the wall. Nobody stands close. It’s always viewed from a distance. Same with a book, you always hold the book away from your face. Nobody zooms in in real life so why zoom in while processing photos.
