LA Is The Best City For Street Photography
It’s the best city for street photography simply because of the weather and size. There’s no bad weather excuses here, you can work on your grind 365 days a year. While most people are all bundled up and dealing with seasonal depression, I’m still walking around the beach in shorts and a T-shirt. The glorious sun on my face. As the second largest city in the USA, there are endless opportunities to make photos.
Maybe it’s only competition is San Francisco but the daily struggle with Karl probably eliminates it from the discussion.
Candid Spontaneous Moments Only
No heavy post processing. No AI. No staged moments. No “willing the photo into existence”. Candid and spontaneous are the only photos I’ve managed to continue making without boredom.

The Artist Or Laborer For Respect?
Who has the respect. The carpenter who helped frame a towering skyscraper or a street photographer who managed to leave behind a few decent photos?
We All Need The Trash Guy
Who is doing the dirty work? We can’t all be full of ideas without producing anything. The world exists because of trash collectors, electricians, plumbers, etc… Our world as we know it depends on it. Our art is a great privilege and to expect people to unduly respect our art is naive, foolish and bougie.
Expectations For The Media
Our expectations are probably not low enough. Start basement level and be surprised if it reaches the kitchen.
