I find more inspiration from athletes than other photographers because of their work ethic. The great athletes have to grind every single day to accomplish greatness. What’s the quickest path to glory. Working hard everyday or watching photographers on YouTube discuss elements in a lens?
We Can All Be A Winogrand
The formula is simple. Shoot as much as possible. It’s estimated that Winogrand shoot 400 photos per day. Shooting that much will quickly yield good photos and develop your style and interests. I doubt Winogrand was anymore talented than his contemporaries or any street photographers shooting today. Her just worked harder than everyone. So just shoot more than Winogrand and you’ll eventually catch up to him and possibly surpass his greatness.

New Camera Christmas List
Dear Santa,
I’ve been a good boy all year, but now I need a new toy to play with. Could you please use your powers to make my wishes come true?
An updated GR with a mono sensor and/or 40 or 60 megapixels so I can use a 75 and 90mm crop mode.
A GR with a 21mm lens and the above improvements. I’d love a GR with a 21mm lens and 28, 35 and 50mm crop options.
I small point and shoot MFT Olympus camera with no EVF and fast sensor readout speeds.
Thank you Santa.
Love, Chris
Inspiration In Street Photography
I think it’s wise to find inspiration outside of street photographers. Most of my inspiration comes from life experience, the social dynamics of LA and its beautiful scenery, reading, the news, etc… Just daily life. I rarely look at other street photographers work and think “wow, now I need to go and shoot.” I prefer looking at as little work from others as possible so I’m not subconsciously influenced.
