An emotional drain with bigger cameras. Too easy with the GR.

Autofocus for Street Photography
I could never get down with it. I like turning the focus ring and managing my focus. I think its superior for street photography. It’s why snap focus on the GR is great. I usually start off of 2 meters at 28mm since that’s about my height. I envision myself laying down on the ground in front of me and that’s about 2 meters. I’m usually around 3 meters for a 35mm.
Who Needs Outer Space
Even the most traveled people have probably only seen 5% of Earth. Humans don’t live long enough or have the opportunity to just travel around freely all day.
We are lucky to live on this planet. What a marvel it is.
Photograph The Strengths
Wherever you’re at, has it’s own feeling and charm. We should be photographing the strengths of that location. Not photographing like we see others doing in completely different locations. For example, I live in a beach town. The culture here are water sports, the beach, dogs and Lululemon. Just of the top of my head, of course there’s more than that. It would be odd for me to take photos like I’m in New York because there are no tall buildings covering the shadowy, busy streets with lighting bursting through the skyscrapers. Embrace the palm trees and sunshine.
Ricoh GR in NYC
If I lived in a more bustling city like NYC, I’d probably just use the GR. I think the move in Los Angeles is the more aesthetic street photography as it’s hit or miss to find those chaotic street scenes. Everything here is much more spread out.
Putzing Around
We don’t always have to have a project or working towards something. Its fine to putz around and have fun with it.
