Nobody cares about your settings. The image rules all.

I love the Daido approach. Just cruising around taking snapshots.

Gatekeepers will tell you the RULES of street photography. It’s not that deep. Just shoot everyday and photograph what you like. The rest will come.

I used to be self conscious about my lack of photography knowledge. Now I look at it as a superpower. I’m not beholden to all the rules of the game. The rules that surely hold some people back.

Always referencing their photographic background. Training. Schooling. Work history in the field. Then I look at their work and I’m like meh… I suspect the constant declarations of photographic knowledge have more to do with feeding a fragile ego.

Best to shoot alone to avoid any distractions or confrontations caused by others techniques.

I’ve been thinking about moving because the drug and crime problems here are out of control. But I have faith we are close to the tipping point and things will eventually turn around. To be able to photograph this place through it’s transition is a blessing.
