Achieve Endless Inspiration

Endless inspiration. Endless.

There’s really no reason to ever be bored with photography because everywhere you look, there’s inspiration, right?

And that’s what the magazine mindset has unlocked for me. Now I have somewhere to put all these photographs.

Rectangles, circles. Look, circles everywhere. Santa Monica, baby. Let’s go.

In probably just the minute I’ve been talking to you, I’ve been shooting photos the whole time. I’ve probably made two spreads in a magazine if I wanted to.

Now look at that. I’ve been making rectangles and circle photos. A circle and a rectangle, right?

I could have a spread with four horizontal photos on it. I could have three circles, and then for the fourth photo I could have that circle and that square. Or vice versa. It’s just never-ending.

That’s how you get out of the boredom with street photography.

Damn, that spider. Look at that.

Never be bored. No point.

Some backlight there. Yeah, that’s cool. I think this would actually be better without the flash.

Big old spider.

But that’s the best way to not get bored. Take photos of random things on the street like I am, you know?

Look at this one. We’ve got another circle that’s yellow. A little pop of color.

Look at all these circles. We’ve got two, four, six of them here, right? And we’ve got two more out there.

That’s how you never stay bored. You just photograph circles.

You could make a whole project out of just photographing circles on the damn street. Boom. That could be like five years of my life right there.

There’s just zero reason to ever be bored.

Look, trash inside of a circle. We’ve got trash inside of a circle.

Look, we’ve got four circles. Well, it’s not really a circle. What is this? One, two, three, four, five, six. A hexagon?

Look at that. We’ve got four hexagons, a circle, and a square.

Boom. Boom.

I just made like eight photo spreads right there in the course of about three minutes.

And we’ve got another shape. Look, an old faded stop sign.

And we’ve got the shadow on the street. See the shadow?

There we go.

That’s the secret to never staying bored. Street photography doesn’t have to be just people all day long.

Take photos of patterns and stuff that you see on the street, you know?

Really, it’s just that simple.

Look. Got another circle.
