ESCAPE THE MATRIX

Let’s escape the matrix.

The internet is probably the best and worst thing that’s happened to us.

And I’ve found that the best way for me to escape it is this right here: creating something.

Photography. Making videos. Writing. Whatever.

Even making these videos has become therapeutic for me.

I used to do a lot of blogging. I’ve got all these blog posts on my website, but I’ve found that video is actually a better representation of my thoughts.

With writing, you sit there and look at it. You rewrite it. You might run it through AI. Eventually it can become a little too scripted.

This is different.

The way I’m talking right now is a representation of what I’m thinking in this exact moment. It’s completely unscripted and off the top of my head.

And I like the idea that maybe a month from now, or two years from now, I can come back and reexamine these thoughts.

Did I change?

Do I still believe this?

That’s really interesting to me. These videos become a record of the journey.

And I get to share that journey with people around the world.

You never really know where it’s going to take you.

So maybe that’s how you escape the matrix.

Become a creator.

Create as much as possible.

And it doesn’t even have to be art.

Maybe you’re building houses. Maybe you’re a plumber. I was a plumber for a few years. Maybe you’re fixing an air conditioner or installing a sink.

Whatever it is, you’re actually doing something.

You’re participating in the world instead of sitting on the edge of it consuming everything that’s being fed to you.

That’s really what I’m getting at.

Create more.

Photography, art, writing, building houses, making videos. It doesn’t matter.

Do something with your life instead of endlessly doomscrolling and consuming.

Create more than you consume.
