Is a Zoom a Valid Street Lens?

I’ve tried a zoom a few times shooting street and it never works out. I get caught zooming instead of moving my feet and never know exactly what I’m doing. Also zooms are just too big and clunky. Well I’ve been rocking out the Sony 28-60 on my A9 and really enjoying it. It’s such a tiny and light lens with great handling. I don’t feel bothered by it and enjoying the different focal lengths. I’m keeping it on 28 and 35mm by default and only zooming when the scene calls for it.
