Be more like the mama bear when faced with adversity on the street. By adversity I mean assessing a threat. I realize it’s a bit odd to be talking so dramatically about a threat on the street. But if you are walking around public streets in a major US city, you’re likely faced with daily threats on the street. Los Angeles is going through a drug epidemic and everyday I’m faced with a decision. Should I walk past the eradicate person with flailing arms. Or the person yelling at an imaginary figure? I say be more like the mama bear. Check out this video to see where I’m going with this.
If you watched through this clip, you see the mama bear keeping her distance from the perceived threat. The mama bear has no ego, even though this forest is her home. Her mission is to keep her cubs and herself safe. The mama bear could certainly take on and kill Robert Martinez. But her priorities are not to engage unnecessarily. So if you see a threat on the street, just go another way. Cross the street. Your goal is to raise your cubs and take photos. Not risk your safety by walking by a YouTuber or unstable person.
