Sea Lions Last Breath

My goal is to feel something. I ran across this sea lion the other day. All along the California coast, Sea Lions have been poisoned by domoic acid in the water. I watched this animal struggle for a few minutes and then I was on my way. By the time I got to the pier, I looked out and saw the lifeless body laying on the sand. Surely died a few minutes after I left. The next day, yellow tape was placed in the area of the fallen sea lion. I’d rather feel sadness then nothing at all.
