I’m fairly certain LA is the strangest place in the US, maybe on Earth. I’ve been to pretty much every major city in the US, so I’m comfortable saying this. The massive discrepancy between the rich and poor and then you have everyone else somewhere in the middle fighting for relevancy. Every culture with it’s traditions and food are represented here. It’s sensory overload. I can only handle walking through Venice Beach, Hollywood and Downtown for a few hours before I’m totally drained. If you’re coming from say Boston or Chicago, Los Angeles will feel so foreign and out of this world in comparison. If you’re coming from a place like Cincinnati, my hometown, you’ll see more wild and interesting things happen in one weekend in Santa Monica (which is a fairly chill place) than you will the entire year in Cincinnati. It’s a blessing and a curse. Great for my photography. Probably not so great for my mentality.
